- Provides business plan guidance
- Provides local business counselors through different local associations, such as SCORE Mentors, Small Business Development Centers, and Women's Business Centers
- Provides Lendermatch loan program that guarantees capital and reduces risk for small businesses
- Offers low-interest disaster loans so that businesses and business owners can more easily recover from sudden disasters
- Can connect small businesses to possible opportunities to fill contracts, since many contracts must be filled by small businesses
- Can connect small businesses with SBICs, or small business investment companies, which can then provide investment capital
- SBA grants Surety Bonds, which help small businesses win contracts by ensuring that the work will be completed
